National and International Workshops Draft Program 2005


International conferences hosted in Australia

A total of $20K is allocated to this activity in 2005. These funds are intended to sponsor the IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory to be held in Adelaide in September.

International conferences attendances

A total of $32K is allocated to this activity in 2005. The maximum support for international conference attendance is $2K. For ARC eligible organizations, the intention is that funding is dollar-for-dollar with respect to ARC funds and pledged funds from partner organizations. The intention is for 50% of total funds to be awarded within each half-year. This activity includes both researchers and students conference attendance.

Domestic conference attendance

A total of $49K is allocated to this activity in 2005. The maximum support for domestic conference attendance (conference held in Australia) is $500. For ARC eligible organizations, the intention is that funding is dollar-for-dollar with respect to ARC funds and pledged funds from partner organizations. The intention is for 50% of total funds to be awarded within each half-year. The ARC funds and pledged funds by eligible ARC organizations allocated to this activity are intended to support student's conference attendance only. Funds pledged by non-ARC eligible organizations can support both researcher's and student's conference attendance.

Workshop organisation

A total of $26K is allocated to this activity in 2005. The maximum support for workshop attendance is $500. For ARC eligible organizations, the intention is that funding is dollar-for-dollar with respect to ARC funds and pledged funds from partner organizations. The intention is for 50% of total funds to be awarded within each half-year. The intention within this activity is that two workshops are organized in 2005, one thematic workshop and one industry workshop. These workshops will be open to ACoRN participants only. ACoRN will solicit interested parties to suggest topics for and to organize these events.
