Satellite Network Access Point

The Satellite Network Access Point (SNAP) project represents a cost efficient turn-key solution for communications in remote communities. It targets business and individual users, covering the last mile, with the traffic aggregated in a single high data rate satellite link to an Internet backbone.
Live satellite tests show that the aggregation of users in the SNAP hub can lead to significant bandwidth reduction and therefore cost savings for the satellite segment. The Wi-Fi/Satellite hybrid network combined with efficient traffic management makes the SNAP platform a viable alternative to cable-based solutions for telecommunications infrastructure. Testing has demonstrated that SNAP represents a viable alternative to rural and remote broadband communications via satellite.
